Coding misstep forces new Firefox release

The open-source Firefox browser and Thunderbird e-mail client will be updated for the second time in a week because of code changes that have unintentionally stopped some third-party extensions from functioning correctly.

It's all turning out to be more of a PR/communication issue than anything else.
The 1.05 release broke some extensions. Additionally, the English version was release before any other language versions.
When the extension issue was discovered, the Mozilla Foundation (MoFo) asked the European developers to wait until the 1.06 release, expected later this week, rather than releasing other language versions of 1.05. (The developers were free to release them as localised builds, just without the Moz/FF branding)
Apparently Firefox has a higher percentage of users outside the US, so those who use language versions other than English are seeing it as something of an afront.
The bottom line is that 1.05 probably shouln't have been released without more extension testing, or they should have gone ahead and released the other versions, and let the extensions stay broken for a few days. Now they've got a little bit of a PR mess on their hands.

BTW, FF 1.06 pre-release is available. I'm using it and all of my extensions seem to be working, although I don't use all that many.

Hmmm...this must be why my RoboForm extension was causing FF to crash.

Fortunately, I have no such problems with Maxthon.
